Last week, Rep. Jeff Pittman announced the introduction of legislation that would lead to the construction of a Veterans' Home in Northeast Kansas.
This morning, the Chairman of the Social Services Budget Committee, Rep. Will Carpenter abruptly cancelled the hearing on House Bill 2610, the Veterans' Home legislation. Veterans Organizations have made it clear that this is a top priority. Local constituents have made it clear this is a top priority. Veterans deserve, at a minimum, to be heard on this issue. I encourage you to email Rep. Will Carpenter (Email) and House Speaker Ron Ryckman (Email) and politely urge those legislators to allow our Kansas Veterans to be heard and hold a hearing on House Bill 2610.
